Boy’s Swim Team Rules
The following policies will be in effect for the 2008 – 2009
season
Code of Conduct
All student athletes and their parents must read and sign
the Lakeland Athletic Code of Conduct. One
copy of this agreement must be signed each year during the career of an
athlete. If you have any questions as to
whether or not you have already signed the Code of Conduct please talk to a
coach.
Team Rules
- Participation
at all afternoon practices is mandatory
- Participation
at all morning practices is mandatory for 2nd year and above
swimmers
- Participation
at all meets is mandatory
- An
unexcused meet absence will result in dismissal from the team
- An
unexcused practice absence will result in a one meet suspension from
competition
- To
obtain an excused absence, the athlete must contact the coach regarding
sickness, major conflict, school priorities, etc… prior to the practice.
- Three
unexcused absences will result in dismissal from the team
- Students
must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 in order to be eligible to compete.
- Students
must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5 to be able to compete at the varsity level
General Behavior
- Student-athletes
are expected to represent the school, team and coach by acting with
dignity at all times. A positive
attitude about participation, training, and competition is required. Student-athletes failing to represent
behavior guidelines will be recommended to the athletic director for
dismissal from the team.
